The WorldStar Packaging Awards are the most important packaging awards in the world. Organised annually since 1970 by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO), they aim to showcase the continuous advances in packaging design and technology.

‘LatCub’ is the revolutionary and innovative solution that aims to replace plastic rings and shrink wrapping with sustainable, 100% biodegradable and recyclable packaging. It is the first solution with these characteristics on the market, with less cardboard and without needing any glue or adhesive plastic tape, two elements that prevent the total biodegradability of the packaging. Thus, the ecological impact is minimal and the carbon footprint is significantly reduced. It has the capacity to maintain the current rhythm and productivity levels.

This case reflects the soul of the product with maximum simplicity. Thanks to the study of a linear geometry, a rotating effect has been achieved, imitating Gaudí’s architecture. It can be produced on an industrial scale, thanks to the folds with slits glued by machines. Another important aspect of the creative packaging, inspired by Gaudí, is the graphics that highlight the rotational shape. Finished with matt lamination and in bright colours which differentiate the varieties.

The key to the success of this packaging solution lies partly in the combination of two different materials, cardboard and plastic, as well as in its design, which can be easily opened, thus allowing the product to be shared.

A set of cases containing a diversified range of three different switches. Produced in different colours, all packs follow the same structural design: a cover and an inner base that can be joined together by an elastic band, giving it vertical stability. The Rolling Smoker Pack satisfies the special request of our client to create a simple and practical pack for their tobacco paper packaging, in which the previous closure system, consisting of a rubber and a plastic, will be replaced by a simpler one. Thanks to the eco-design applied to the pack, produced only with cardboard, we have increased its practicality and agility to access the product.

In order to meet the sophistication demanded by an elitist clientele, we converted the characteristic diamond shapes of the brand image into an elegant quilt-like texture, thanks to the specially designed finishes. The Gremio Awards,organised by the Gremio de Industrias Gráficas de Cataluña (Graphic Industries of Catalonia Guild), aim to showcase the best packaging solutions at regional level, highlighting their originality, innovation and functionality.

Eco-Pastry Solutions are a family of packaging produced only with cardboard, fully biodegradable, aimed at the pastry sector. The main objective of the client was to replace the previous plastic packs with another material that is more respectful of the environment, maintaining the same brand philosophy.
Betting on cardboard has not only increased the brand’s commitment to sustainability, but it has also given it a greater degree of innovation and customization, since it is a material that allows you to play with many more forms of design and more printing finishes than plastic.

In this packaging we can highlight the clamping coating, the premium image and the added value of the solution itself. The side skirts of the container offer ample space for communication and advertising, and even more, they facilitate the storage of the packs, one on top of the other. The strategically located holes in the center of the upper part and the side edge are positioned to allow an agile transport and improve the ergonomics of use.

Thanks to the finishes applied to this packaging for a well-known global spirits brand, Novotipo has achieved a packaging with a surprising finish.
